Florana Tarot blossomed out of the artist's lifelong passion for nature and his fascination for bold graphic convention. The name Florana is a portmanteau of the words Flora and Fauna. As the name suggests, Florana represents a world where the separate kingdoms have merged and evolved into a thriving tarot landscape. The result is a tarot deck steeped in Rider-Waite tradition yet richly expressed in modern prismatic compositions, with vibrant colors and botanical flourishes. James Ferry is a surrealist illustrator whose subject matter and style of art stem from a love of nature and a fascination with the strong graphic conventions present in contemporary as well as the ligne claire comic movement. James grew up in Louisiana and now lives in Texas, where he enjoys hiking and exploring woodland plants and wildlife.
