Beltane, celebrated around May 1st, is a festival marking the shifting seasons. It happens between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice. Beltane is a fire festival, and we celebrate by gathering around the bonfire, and jumping over the bonfire to release the burdens of the past year.

From the Embers is a design inspired by Beltane. The lace motif evokes dancing around the bonfire, and the shimmering flames. This is the perfect shawl for spring and summer evenings.

This shawl is knit on the bias in a curved triangular shape, for better drape around the body. The lace pattern is the best kind of lace: looks gorgeous but is super easy to knit and memorize.

In an effort to both reflect the efforts that go into designing knitwear and increasing accessibility to patterns for all audiences, I am offering a full price tier and a discounted tier for those who need more accessible pricing.

From the Embers Shawl Pattern:

    • Pattern is both charted and written. Suitable for adventurous beginners and up.
    • Shawl is knit on the bias and comes with a handy row count chart to help track your progress
    • Suggested needle size: US5 32" or 40" circular needles
    • Yarn: 800 yards of single ply fingering weight yarn, like Malabrigo Mechita or Skeinny Dipping Single & Squooshy

Personal Note: I used 770 yards of fingering weight, so two skeins of at least 400 yards will be plenty if you check your gauge (for real, check your gauge :) )
